Departmental and Group Information

The Animal Behavior group is a GROUP, not a department. Confused? Most universities are organized around the concept of departments, as is UC Davis. The Animal Behavior Graduate Group consists of faculty from a variety of departments, whose interests coincide with those of the group. Therefore, it is by nature interdisciplinary. As a consequence, most graduate groups are ethereal - they have no single physical home. ABGG students are housed in the department of their major professor.

Issues concerning degrees, courses, degree-related exams, certain money matters, certain equipment matters, and any non-department matters are handled through the ABGG Executive Committee, embodied in the Animal Behavior graduate group coordinator. This is the person to contact first when you have a question or problem concerning almost any academic or financial question.
