Degrees:

1978 Ph. D Stanford University Chemistry
1973 B. A. Williams College Chemistry

Research Interests:

Spectroscopy and Biochemistry
The Cramer group uses spectroscopic methods to characterize the molecular and electronic structure of metal sites in bioinorganic systems and environmental samples. Of particular interest are the enzymes nitrogenase (which catalyzes nitrogen fixation to ammonia) and hydrogenases (which catalyze interconversion of protons and electrons to hydrogen molecules).
